First evening at home with nothing particular to do in almost 2 weeks. (Since Sunday the 14th). Squash game got canceled, so I'm free to do what I want.

Though I really should clean my house (it's a mess, with me being here only to sleep (if at all) and feed the cat for almost 2 weeks) or fix the ceiling and lights in the toilet.

Instead I'm going to spend it on the couch, with my cat and the TV. Well, the TV won't be on the couch obviously..

The radiostation we listen to at work didn't play a SINGLE Michael Jackson song during my work day! :D.. They had a "wrong songs" Top 111. 80's and 90's classics you're ashamed to actually like. No one is ashamed to like Michael Jackson songs.

The downside of the internet age is I've got too many people congratulating me on my birthday to thank them all personally. Not just on here, but by textmessage, MSN, email, Facebook and Hyves (kinda a Dutch Facebook/MySpace mix thingy).

So thank you all.

Back to the order of the day..

I spend most of last week in the eastern part of Germany. We left Enschede on Monday early afternoon, expecting to be back late Tuesday... it turned out a bit different. We installed two belts tuesday, which took us about 8 hours, mainly because the machine which we had to install them in was not taken apart yet when we arrived on Tuesday morning. It was late, so we decided to stay in the same hotel as the night before. Which actually came in handy, as it left wednesday free to visit another customer 100 miles further east who had a few problems with a belt. One of the salespeople had asked us to swing by there if we had time. So.. wednesday morning we went to the first client to see if everything was ok, which it was.. we were happy, they were happy, we left. We drove the hundred miles toward the other client, tool a look around and went on our merry way, back to Enschede, a 6 hour drive. About half way back, we got a call.. actually we got several, but because I had no reception and my colleagues phone was dead, we didn't get it until we were half way. Go back to the first client.

We then spend most of the evening discussing what went wrong with 3 people from my company who all drove hours to come help deal with the problem... much fun and beer was had... but not at the 6AM breakfast.

Ugh...

We came home Thursday night (technically Friday morning) at 1AM. And I was at work again the next day at 8:30.

Friday night was squash and then sleep. Saturday was spend at The Hague at my niece's birthday. Today was spend at my parents. And now I'm home, doing the washing, dishes and basic cleaning.. Tomorrow evening should bring peace for the first time in a week!

Waiting for the ok at work to go to Berlin. We should be leaving within the next 2 to 3 hours. Killing time until then.

The translation of yesterdays post will appear some time in the coming week.

It's just past 2 PM on a monday and I'm already too drunk to be allowed to drive. Not that I would drive if I was just drunk enough to legally drive, mind you, but still. Hurray for mondays off and warm weather and balconies. Don't drink and drive, kids.

Oh, and Missy ventured out onto the balcony for the first time a week or so ago.

Seriously considering going to McDonalds for dinner, which is a bad thing and I shouldn't.

People around where I live can be rather redneckish. Very closed, homophobic and racist. Which is why I like to fuck with them on occasion.

One of my colleagues is so homophobic, I often wonder if he isn't at least slightly gay himself. Being gay usually means you're an outcast, as it unfortunately does in alot of communities. He used to have a friend who came out of the closet to him. He hasn't spoken to him since.. you all know the type of guy and if you don't, lucky you.

A few weeks ago a few of us were talking about porn. Now, lesbian porn is fine ofcourse, but gay porn is not, because that's unnatural and just filthy. So I politely pointed out that if you watch straight porn, you're watching dick half the time. The look on his face was priceless.

At the moment kitty is hiding behind the washing machine after her first visit to the vet. She behaved well, even seemed to kinda enjoy the car ride.. but as soon as she got home out of her travel cage it was into the bathroom (which I stupidly had left open) and behind the washer. We'll see how long it will take for her to leave that place.

Vet said she was a very healthy kitty with a very nice fur.

A few days ago I had a weird dream. It involved [info]stephthegeek, her husband and [info]sunnybananas' and [info]4bit4's two kids (both in their mid teens, full on puberty). It took place in my dream village as most of my dreams I remember take place.

The dream started with me walking around in an airport, where I suddenly bumped into Steph and her husband. The airport then changed to a bar where we drank some and played pool. We then went to pick up Sunny and 4bit4's kids, who were both about 15 (though they're years apart in real life). It also involved my car (but not the one I actually own in real life), which I had parked next to a trailer. When all of us wanted to go out for dinner, my car was totally stripped of body panels. But we got in and drove to a restaurant anyway. The road to the restaurant had changed to a part of the GTA cities, though I'm not sure which (I think GTA San Andreas, the first town). And there was a car chase I think..

Tomorrow morning it's a 5AM starting day again, so luckily my squash date cancelled on me.

Now for dinner...

pizza or salad... hmmm...

It has been a good week..

for making money.

Thursday me and a colleague went to install a conveyor belt in one of their machines. We left our company at 4:30 PM.. 10 hours overtime later we were back... yes, that's 3 AM.. and at 8:30 we were at work again. Saturday was another 5 1/2 hours overtime.

I do not normally make begging post, but this is for a good cause, and I'm not even begging for myself.

Two of my Canadian friends ([info]sunnybananas and [info]4bit4) are in a contest to win a Nissan Cube. Part of the decision who wins one of those (they hand out 50!) comes from online votes. So do not be shy, register at http://www.hypercube.ca and please vote for Sunny and Blake for the next nine days.

You'll win my undying affection if you do.

P.S. This post was brought to you by Grolsch beer and cute girls in a bar, which doesn't mean I only support Sunny and Blake when I'm drunk.

A few years ago my Counting Crows coverband did a gig with a symphonic orchestra, the videos are finally up online :D

YouTube channel of our guitarist.

As an intro on the DVD I made this (the music was done by the guitarist (on piano)):

Which I'm strangely proud of :).
Memorial Records is a non existent recordlabel, started by an old band of mine called "The A.J. Vanderschaft Memorial Band". The singer had drawn the final picture of the video on a whiteboard before leaving for Switzerland, and we decided to use it for our CD.. and it's been a running gag amongst all our bands since.. so far, 4 CD's and a DVD have come out on Memorial Records :D

Over Easter my parents invited the whole family to CenterParcs, a bungalow park. Much fun was had despite my little brother being his strange assholish self, which I might write about some time.

Work has been busy as usual, which is good, because it means job for me. :D

Tomorrow it's Queens Day here in Holland, which means a day off for most people in Holland. I'll be spending most of it in trains and at my brother's in The Hague, as it is his girlfriend's birthday.
